Who it’s for
- Low light
- Long shooting days
- Existing DJI users (Osmo, drones)
Strengths
- Square sensor design uses more of the image circle
- Huge built-in storage: no card needed to start
- 8K at 50 fps
Trade-offs
- US availability is limited and policy-dependent
- Editing apps less mature than Insta360’s
DJI’s first 360 camera arrived in 2025 with a different sensor approach: square, 1-inch-class sensors that capture more of each fisheye image circle. Add 105 GB of internal storage and long battery life, and it was an immediate challenger to Insta360.
The US question
DJI products have faced US regulatory restrictions, and the Osmo 360 was not officially launched in the US. If you are in the US, check current retailer stock, return policies and warranty terms carefully.
